BEING AN ANSWER TO PRAYER
Dear Pastors,
A young single mom just got saved this spring and has been faithfully coming to connect group ever since. She also recently received the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Our group has been praying with her to get a job for months. Last week I asked her if she would consider reaching out to some people in the church that are losing their homes and jobs and to help me find all the resources needed to help them. I told her it could be a way for her to help others and she was really excited. She spent some time researching online and printed a lot of resource information for the church and those in need. She even called one of the ladies in need and personally helped her, even though she was jobless herself.
Then on Friday she received a call for a new fulltime job in her field of accounting. PTL! She started today. She was being an answer to prayer and then received her answer. She was so excited she said she had chill bumps.

GROWING IN PRAYER
Dear Pastor Jeff,
I know I said thank you to you earlier today, but I just wanted to thank you again for the your service this morning.
I did not even know about praying in tongues until a few years ago. Although I was brought up in the Christian faith by my Mom, I was never taught about praying in tongues. It wasn't taught or done in our church to my knowledge either. As a matter of fact, we rarely prayed out loud growing up other than the scripted children's prayer. My first exposure to praying in tongues was at a lunch hour prayer meeting at church in Florida. It was such a shocking experience and beyond where I was with my walk. To me you didn't even pray out loud let alone in tongues. It came across as a strange ritual that I had no understanding of.
Since going to Victory North I have truly grown in my prayer life. I have been stepping out of my comfort zone constantly. I prayed out loud for the first time in the first connect group my husband and I joined. I have put my hands on others and prayed out loud for the first time as well. The list just goes on.
Anyway, today I stepped out of my comfort zone again. Your sermon truly reached me and showed me more of what praying in tongues was all about. I finally learned where it was in the Bible and the meaning behind it. I had never heard of being anointed by the Holy Spirit before. Learning of that gave me meaning and some understanding of praying in tongues. Before I knew it, I felt the Lord calling me to take that step of faith and receive this gift He has for us.
When you made the call to the altar I just had an overwhelming need to go up there. I truly felt the Holy Spirit wash over me so much it gave me chills. With your encouragement and the others praying over me, I just let go. Before I knew it, I was praying in tongues without having a clue as to what was coming out of my mouth. I knew what was in my head to pray, but it was coming out in tongues instead. I couldn't believe it.
A couple of years ago I wouldn't even consider praying in English out loud amongst a small connect group, and here I was on a Sunday at the altar praying in tongues. It was something I had never felt or experienced before in my life. Now I feel closer to God and Jesus Christ than I have ever felt in my entire life. I am riding on that high you described today. I feel as if I can conquer the world. I cannot thank you enough for this sermon and giving the call to the altar. Thank you!!!! God truly spoke to me through you today.

GOD IS FAITHFUL IN FINANCES
- - Just wanted to share my praise report. I ask for prayer at connect group a few weeks ago for God to provide me finances to buy school clothes for my children and pay some high bills. 2 weeks later an anonymous source blessed me with $555.00 cash and $200 in a Kohl's gift card. God is truly faithful to bless above and beyond your needs.
- - Prayers are being answered in our Connect Group! We prayed for a young couple in need of a financial miracle to move into a home in preparation for their soon coming baby. The very next day, an ex-brother-in-law called out of the blue and asked if they needed any help. They mentioned they could use some help with moving expenses and he gave them a check for $2000!
- - After our Connect Group Meeting, we were praying for someone to get more hours at work since he hadn't had any in a couple weeks and needed to pay rent. Literally, by the end of the prayer, his boss texted him with some hours for that week!
GOD IS FAITHFUL
I listened to the message called Spiritual Warfare on-line this week. This message was so powerful, so very meaningful and encouraging to me so much that words can’t even express. The message was especially meaningful to me when Pastor Jeff shared his experience with the demonic activity and spiritual warfare that he encountered with his daughter while she was sleeping.
I had that very same experience with my son when he was about 3 years old. What has become apparent to me even more so, is that the attacks on my son’s life and soul have not stopped.
I especially want Pastors Jeff and Pippa to know that God has heard their prayers, along with others, regarding my son and his recent battle with serious depression. Before the many prayers and fastings, he wasn’t even able to eat - for almost 2 months. He had lost so much weight and spent most of his time alone in his very dark bedroom. He had also alienated himself from all of his friends and family and even stopped attending church.
Thank God, he is now able to eat and has been for some time. Both Pastors Jeff and Pippa, along with Connect Group Leaders Kelvin and Sara Bolden prayed with me, for me, and for my son. I thank and praise God for the testimonies that are already going forth from this season of victory in his life and mine. I know that I am not alone in this spiritual warfare and that encourages me to be strong in the Lord.
I also thank and praise God that my son is now employed and doing much better, but the Battle Is Not Over! There are still many more victories to be manifested and I am anticipating every one in Jesus name!
I am so grateful to be a part of a praying church and especially for Pastors Jeff and Pippa as they Help, Equip, Love and Propel us to stay strong in the Lord as we encounter spiritual warfare.
